2 crashes cause serious injuries in Callaway County

Two people are in the hospital with severe injuries after failing to stop at a stop sign early Sunday in Callaway County.
Keith Johnson, 45, was northbound on Route J when he ran through a stop sign at the Route F intersection.
The vehicle then ran off the road and struck an embankment.
Johnson was taken by ambulance to University Hospital.
A passenger, Prudence Wilbanks, 41. was taken to University Hospital by staff for life.
Neither person was wearing their seatbelt.
Also in Callaway County later that morning, Esther Handrahan, 80, of Fort Scott, KS was taken by helicopter to University Hospital for serious injuries after rolling her vehicle.
She was eastbound on Route B, just east of Route A, when she overcorrected after her vehicle went off the right side of the road. The car then went to the left side of the road and overturned.
