COLUMBIA, MO. -- A Columbia man is in jail after he ran from police and tried to get rid of cocaine.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department said Matthew S. Hall, 30, was a wanted man.

A deputy saw Hall Wednesday night getting into a car in the 1700 block of I-70 Drive Southwest.

When the deputy tried to pull the car over, Hall got out of the car and ran.

Police said as Hall ran he tried to throw away crack cocaine which was packaged for sale.

The deputy caught and arrested Hall

Hall in the Boone County Jail with a no bond probation detainer.
