A fugitive who escaped law enforcement officers Monday near Macon was caught yesterday north of Cairo in Randolph County.

A Moberly K-9 team located Christopher George Holcomb of Lafayette, Louisiana hiding in a brush pile.

He surrendered yesterday afternoon without incident and was taken to the Randolph County Justice Center.

Holcomb was wanted on a parole violation warrant from Louisiana on an original charge of larceny and a warrant from Georgia for dangerous drugs.

A six hour manhunt Monday had to be called off during severe weather.

The State Highway Patrol and Randolph County Sheriff's Department were part of the search.
