A small, experimental aircraft crashed in Montgomery County, injuring the operator.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Department said an ultra light glider with a motor went down around 9 Monday night
Witnesses said the glider was taking off and a strong gust of wind grabbed a hold of the aircraft. The operator cut the engine, and the plane fell to the ground in a field along the airport road.
The male operator was moderately injured, and flown to Columbia for medical treatment. The man's identity has not been released, but officials said he's not from the area.
NTSB and FAA have been called, and they're not investigating .
