After a chilly past couple of days, warmer conditions are on the docket for the first part of this weekend. A weak cold front will sweep over the area tonight, dropping high temperatures a few degrees for tomorrow. A few isolated flurries may be possible in the northwestern part of the viewing area, but for the most part it will be a dry front with some scattered high clouds. High pressure will move into the area again, pushing warm, southerly winds towards Missouri on Friday. Afternoon highs on Friday and Saturday will be in the upper 40s and low 50s and conditions will be somewhat breezy. This short warm spell will quickly come to an end on Sunday, when an arctic air mass moves southward from Canada. Dry, cold air will keep us in the low teens through Wednesday, and in the low 20s in the afternoon Monday and Tuesday. Sunny skies will prevail for almost the entire period.
