Attempted kidnapping in Columbia Sunday morning

COLUMBIA, Mo. --Columbia Police are releasing information about an attempted kidnapping that happened Sunday morning.

Authorities were called to the 1600 block of Hanover Boulevard after a nine-year-old girl reported a man grabbing her while she was playing in the backyard with her four-year-old brother.

The girl was able to free herself and report the incident to the police. The four-year-old was not hurt and did not see the incident occur.

The suspect was described as a black male last seen wearing a mask, jacket, and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Columbia Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 875-tips.
