A Columbia 4-plex caught fire early this morning.

The Boone County Fire district recieved a call regarding the fire at 5:28am. Firefighters arrived at 1071 Wildwood street where a 4-plex had smoke and flames coming from it's backside and roof.

Crews had the flame under control in 15 minutes. Three of the four units were occupied at the time the fire broke out. All occupants escaped with no injuries.

The 4-plex, owned by Khan Properties LLC, experienced substantial damage and is uninhabitable at this time. The cause of the fire is undetermined but thought to have started in a lower level utility room.

The State fire Marshall is investigating.
