The homeowner found him and chased him out of the house
A 19-year-old Dixon man was arrested Monday for burglary and assault.
Pulaski County deputies responded to a burglary in the 21000 block of Route Y at about 1:30 p.m. Monday. The homeowner found Dylan Orr robbing the residence, then chased him out the front door.
The homeowner was slightly injured while confronting Orr at the front door. Orr then ran from the home, through nearby woods.
Several deputies went to the area to search for Orr, while one deputy went to the home to begin the investigation.
A description was shared amongst authorities, and a short time later a deputy saw a car, driven by someone wearing clothes that matched the description, pass on Route Y.
The deputy stopped the car, with St. Robert police as backup.
The deputy at the home and the deputy who stopped the car worked together to ascertain probable cause and detain the driver.
The probable cause later turned into an arrest and 24-hour hold while a statement of probable cause was sent to the Pulaski County prosecutor requesting charges.
The prosecutor filed one count of first degree burglary, a class B felony, and one count of third degree assault, a class A misdemeanor. Bond was set at $110,000.
Orr remains in the Pulaski County Jail pending the posting of bond.
