(AP) -- JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon is wrapping up the work week on the road.

Nixon scheduled three public appearances today in northeastern Missouri, starting in Canton for the ribbon-cutting of a $6 million grain elevator for the Ursa Farmers Cooperative. The state provided a block grant to help acquire and clear riverfront property for the elevator.

Nixon also plans to visit another town along the Mississippi River, to present an agricultural award to a nursery in Louisiana, Mo. He wraps up the trip with an event honoring the Palmyra School District for its academic performance and remarks to an assembly at Palmyra High School.
