Columbia’s Veteran’s United Home Loans employees want their co-workers to get their boots on.

Every employee that pledges 1% of their annual salary to the “Get Your Boots On” fundraiser gets a pair of military boots.

All of the money raised from the campaign goes to several military charities including the Marine Recovery Fund, the Lone Survivor Foundation and the Armed Forces Foundation.

The boots allow donors to raise awareness for the brave men and women of our military.

Foundation Director Megan Sievers said, “I’ll walk into the grocery store and you can tell there is curiosity there.  It’s really exciting to ask, “Do you know why I’m wearing these boots?”  You can share the story of why you are wearing those boots on the street.”

Fundraising organizers have exceeded their goal of getting 80% of Veterans United employees to pledge 1% of their annual salaries to military charities.

Employees will wear their military boots to work in honor of our veterans on Friday, November 9.
