(AP) -- DEXTER, Mo. (AP) -- A body found more than a month ago near Dexter has been identified as a missing 37-year-old man.
The victim is Shawn Byron Smith, formerly of Dexter. The body was found in a grassy area behind a rural home on Sept. 6. Because of decomposition, the body was sent to the St. Louis Medical Examiner's office for identification.
