Thousands of Mizzou students became eligible to vote in the upcoming November Election on Thursday afternoon.

Officials with the Associated Students of the University of Missouri continued their voter registration drive at Mizzou’s student center.

Organizational leaders gave away free T-shirts and pizza to students who registered to vote.

Members of the student lobby group want to register 7,000 students to vote in the general election.

They are about halfway toward their goal.

Student leaders said this year’s youth vote will have a huge impact on the presidential election.

ASUM President Roshaunda McLean said, “Missouri is leaning more towards Romney, but I don’t think that’s counting the youth vote, like the students who are registering from out of state to vote here.  I’m not sure if they count that.  The youth vote will definitely change the way the state swings, in my opinion.”

The deadline for all Missourians to register to vote in the November Election is October 10.
