Kay Gunter never suspected she would become a millionaire overnight, but then she got a call from a man wanting to give more than she could ever imagine.

"And he said 'well, iId have to call you because I want to give you some money,' and I said 'oh really?' I said 'how much is that?'. He said 'well, you've won 2.8 million dollars and a 52-inch television set' and right then I thought 'ugh-uh'"

The catch? Well, there was the little part of getting a Walgreens Green-Dot cardwith $300 on it, just for covering delivery expenses.

Kay was skeptical, but after a little thought, she decided to call in some help.

"I called the Police Department, and the young lady that answered the phone, I told her I wanted to talk to a detective, and she wanted to know what it was about and I said 'well, some guys called me, and I supposedly won 2.8 million dollars and 52-inch television set, and she said 'oh, no Mercedes?', and I said, oh have you received another complaint?' and she said 'yes, but they only got 2.1 million and I said 'well, I guess I can afford to buy a Mercedes with the extra money"

She eventually got the name of the man calling and his company, the mega-million awards company and she passed that on to authorities.

Police say no fraud has been committed, because no money was ever exchanged.

Kay says she was lucky this time, but warns others to be on the look out.

"I think that by the time you lose your money, and they've taken that card and got the money, the police can't find them, they're gone."
