A wanted man continues to elude Columbia police.

Authorities, including a K9 unit, spent a few hours near a busy intersection searching for Rashad Washington on Thursday. An officer had spotted Washington, who is believed to be armed, near Fir Place, just south of I-70 and Rangeline.

Washington is wanted on warrants for violating parole and selling cocaine.

Jill Schlude with the Columbia Police Department said, "o=Obviously, we probably have some other addresses and things that we can check over time, but at this point we are really hopeful that some folks that know where he might be staying or his whereabouts will call and at least (give) an anonymous tip and let us know. Often times, there are CrimeStopper rewards for things like this. Hopefully, we'll get him picked up that way."

Washington was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts. His hair was in loose braids, not the style in this picture. If you have any helpful information, call the Columbia police or CrimeStoppers at 875-TIPS.
