She did not put pre-need funeral funds in a trust or joint account
The State Attorney General's Office has obtained a judgment against a former Jefferson City funeral home.
The judgment requires Barbara Buescher, the owner of Buescher Memorial Home, Inc., to pay nearly $30,000 in costs and penalties for violating state law by not putting pre-need funeral funds in a trust or joint account.
The attorney general's office judgment is the result of a lawsuit filed nearly three years ago on behalf of customers who had bought pre-need contracts.
Buescher has already paid more than $283,000 in restitution to compensate 60 customers.
The new judgment concerns five additional customers.
