(AP) -- EAGLEVILLE, Mo. (AP) -- A northwest Missouri woman is charged with second-degree murder and child abuse in the death of her 8-month old daughter.
Prosecutors say 23-year-old Nicole Lauria Lister, of Eagleville, repeatedly abused her daughter before the child died. Court documents indicate Lister called 911 Saturday to report her daughter, Kiraleigh Grace Wheeler, was not breathing. The child was pronounced dead at a hospital.
A probable cause statement says Lister told police she picked up her daughter by one arm and dropped her on the floor. When Lister awoke later from a nap, she says she found the child dead.
Lister is being held in the Harrison County jail on a $250,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 19.
