The assailants are 13 and 16 years old
JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- A 16-year-old boy robbed a man in his apartment Thursday evening. The thief later returned with a 13-year-old accomplice, one of whom stabbed the man when he refused to tell them his EBT card's access code.
The 16-year-old Jefferson City resident entered the apartment, located in the 1500 block of East McCarty Street, and held the man at gunpoint to steal his wallet. This contained some cash and the EBT card.
When the teenagers returned, the man was again held at gunpoint while they ransacked the apartment. One of the teens took out a knife, stabbing the man several times in the back and arm.
The two ran, but Jefferson City Police caught them close to the apartment, in a home in the 1200 block of East High Street.
The man was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was treated for stab wounds, which were not life threatening.
The teenagers are being held at the Prenger Family Center and may be charged with first degree robbery, first degree assault, and armed criminal action. The 16-year-old may also face certification to stand trial as an adult.
