31-year-old Mark Swickard is accused of robbing a gas station on Sunday.

Swickard is in the Boone County jail.

Columbia police arrested him Thursday in a wooded area near Bear Creek.

He faces charges of armed criminal action and first degree robbery, along with other charges stemming from previous unrelated cases.

Police say Swickard used a butcher's knife to threaten the clerk at the Shell Station on I-70 Drive Southwest Sunday, taking her purse and the cash drawer.
