An American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter volunteer from Howard County is assisting a Harrisburg family in need.

The three-member Harrisburg family whose home burned Thursday afternoon lost most personal belongings. The home was located in the 1800 block of State Route Y in Howard County.

The Red Cross volunteer met with the clients Thursday and provided them with resources to meet their immediate emergency needs with the purchase of food and clothing.

The Red Cross also provided referrals to two local agencies.

Family members secured their own temporary lodging.
