St. James, Mo. – A 44-year-old woman has died after a hit and run on Sunday.

Lisa Persicke of St. James, Mo., was taken to St. John's Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, Mo., after a vehicle hit her on the North Outer Road. She was running, training for her next marathon.

KSDK reports that Persicke's husband was a bit behind her, trailing on a bicycle.

A family member told us that Persicke was a respiratory therapist at Capital Region in Jefferson City, Mo.

St. James police quickly began to look for the suspect vehicle. With the help of the public, they were able to locate the vehicle, which was described as a blue 2010 Dodge Caravan.

The driver, 76-year-old James Krewson of St. James was found and arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and manslaughter.
