The two arrested tried to run from deputies

Two people were arrested Wednesday afternoon when Cole County deputies responded to 5417 Collier Lane for suspicious activity.

Deputies arrived to find people standing outside the apartment, one of whom tossed what authorities believed to be drugs on the ground. The people then ran, with deputies in pursuit.

More Cole County units responded, as did the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The two arrested were taken to the Cole County Jail, and the drugs were identified as 48 grams of methamphetamine, valued at about $5,000 dollars, and various pills.

Charges were submitted to the Cole County Prosecutors Office on both subjects; one for trafficking first degree and felony resisting arrest, and the other for felony resisting arrest.

The first person has a no bond warrant, while the second has a $5,000 dollar warrant.

Names will not be released until charges are filed.
