(AP) -- The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office is investigating whether a body found along a rural road is connected to a home where officers found a large amount of blood.
KSPR-TV reports the sheriff's office says the body was found Sunday evening along a rural road near Pierce City.
On Saturday, officers went to a home a few miles from where the body was found after receiving a report of possible gunshots. No one was at the home when officers arrived but they found a large amount of blood and evidence that several people had been there.
The sheriff's office says the two calls are likely related and the discovery of the body is being treated as a homicide.
No names have been released.
