Two overnight shots-fired incidents in Columbia

FIRST INCIDENT

An armed robbery took place at about 1:00 a.m. Friday* at Ash and Clinton.

A 21-year-old man and 18-year-old woman were walking in the area when they were approached by a man wearing dark clothing and carrying a gun. He demanded they hand over their property.

After cooperating, the 21-year-old attempted to take the gun from the suspect, but was unsuccessful so they ran from the robber. 

The robber fired at least three rounds at them as they ran from the scene, hitting the 21-year-old with a bullet in his right elbow.

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION:
Dark-complexioned black male, 20-23 years old, 6’00”, 180 lbs, close cut hair, last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The suspect is armed and dangerous.

SECOND INCIDENT

An 18-year-old waiting for a scheduled fight at the Breaktime on Nifong was stood up, so he and a 20-year-old went to a residence in the 4700 block of Brandon Woods.

Upon arrival, they were confronted by the group who didn't show up at the Breaktime. Several shots were fired and a vehicle was struck with one round. The 20-year-old received a minor wound from glass shrapnel. The vehicle had a damaged windshield.

Officers were dispatched at 1:25 a.m. There is no suspect information at this time.
