Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill is touring the state on this Primary Election Day.

McCaskill is running unopposed in the Democratic Primary and will likely face one of the 3 front runners in the Republican Primary.

After voting in Kirkwood, McCaskill stopped in Columbia on Tuesday morning to work at a Democratic Party phone bank.

McCaskill believes this year’s republican senatorial candidate has the advantage in the November General Election.

McCaskill said, “I think clearly that I am the underdog.  I understand that.  I’m comfortable with that position.  I’ve been an underdog in an awful lot of campaigns.  I completely get that people are frustrated with Washington.  I’m going to have to work really hard to make sure they understand that I have been one of those moderate Missourians that has helped forge compromises.”

McCaskill plans to attend an election night watch party in Clay County on Tuesday.

She plans to meet with supporters, watch election returns and deliver some brief remarks.
