Crash in Jefferson City shuts down Missouri River bridge

A crash on the Missouri River Bridge in Jefferson City Friday morning closed the bridge down for a while.

Traffic over the bridge backed up over the westbound side of the bridge.

Traffic was also backed up several miles down Highway 54 westbound, and Highway 63 South.

Jefferson City Police are telling KRCG-13 that the bridge had to be shut down for emergency vehicles in the scene of the accident.

They are also saying that there were more than two cars involved in the accident and at least two cars had to be towed away.
