(AP) -- SMITHVILLE, Mo. (AP) -- Searchers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol's water patrol division have found the body of a 72-year-old fisherman who had been missing since Friday.

A Highway Patrol dispatcher says the body of Gordon Carr was found around 1:15 p.m. Sunday in Smithville Lake, north of Kansas City.

Carr's boat was found Friday at the lake without him in it, and his car was parked near a dock.

The Kansas City Star reported troopers scoured the water Saturday as several family members sat nearby before. The search was suspended Saturday night because of darkness and resumed Sunday morning.
