Missouri Attorney General warns of scam

Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster is warning people that if you were contacted by someone claiming to be from his office, saying that you won a prize, it's not legitimate.

Koster says scam artist are are contacting people around Missouri by phone and mail, saying that they won a prize in excess of million dollars, and to claim it they need to pay taxes and several small fees to several state goverment agencies.

The Attorney General's office is warning people who get contacted not to pay anything until they call the agencies in question.

And, he says that you can always contact his consumer protection hotline at 1-800-392-8222
