Governor Nixon is headed to Audrain County Tuesday to announce a new program to help farmers get more water for their livestock and crops.

The governor will be at a farm outside of Mexico to announce an emergency cost-share program to help drought affected farmers.

Throughout Missouri farmers have been greatly affected by water and hay shortages as a result of the prolonged severe heat and drought.

Monday Governor Nixon declared a state of emergency for the Show-Me state because of the severe weather conditions and the concerns for agriculture, public health, and fire risk.
