They continue to search for another man

Two search warrants served on Wednesday led to one arrest and the seizure of two pickup trucks and one flatbed trailer.

John Ball, 32, of California, Mo., is being held at the Moniteau County Jail for possession of a controlled substance with a $25,000 bond and receiving stolen property with a $30,000 cash-only bond.

On Saturday, a farmer in southern Moniteau County discovered that more than 30 hay bales, about 400 gallons of diesel fuel and other items had been stolen from his farm.

An investigation by the Sheriff's Department lead authorities to Latham, Mo. While searching the area, anonymous tips came in that lead officials to the stolen hay.

The hay had been sold to a farmer north of Latham, Mo. At that point, the Sheriff’s Department was able to identify those who had sold the hay, as well as the vehicles and trailers that were used to transport the hay.

An arrest warrant was also issued for 34-year-old Kevin W. Stinson of southern Moniteau County for receiving stolen property. Stinson has not yet been located.

The investigation continues, with more charges likely.
