A former eastern Missouri teacher has been charged with having sexual contact with a student.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that a grand jury indicted 37-year-old Traci Storie earlier this month with two counts of statutory sodomy and one count of witness tampering.

Franklin County Sheriff's Lt. Charles Subke says the ex-Union Middle School computer teacher is accused of having sexual contact with a 13-year-old boy off school property in February. Subke says the student wasn't in any of Storie's classes.

Union R-XI School District assistant superintendent Judy Stivers says Storie was placed on administrative leave in February. Storie never returned to the classroom and resigned the following month.

Storie is free on bond. Her attorney, Frank Carlson, didn't immediately return a phone message Saturday from The Associated Press.
