JEFFERSON CITY -- A car crash in Jefferson City sent three people, including two children to the hospital on Wednesday night, as crowds were leaving the downtown-area after the fireworks show.
The crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of McCarty St. and Adams St.
Jefferson City Police said Amelia Arrington, 25, was driving a Malibu west on McCarty when she started to make a left turn onto Adams St. and was hit by Charles Durbin, 40, driving westbound in a Chevy Tahoe.
Ten people were in the Malibu, 7 of them were small children without car seats.
The Tahoe had 6 people in it, including Durbin, all of which were reportedly wearing seatbelts.
A 24-year-old rear seat passenger in the Malibu along with 2 of the 7 children in the rear seat were taken by ambulance to local hospitals for their injuries.
All were released a short time later.
