A Mora, Missouri man pleaded guilty to the attempted use of a child in a sexual performance.
34 year old Jason Ray Zimmerschied made that plea Monday in Boone County Circuit Court.
In May 2011, an investigator with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force was acting as a 14-year-old Boone County girl online when the suspect contacted her.
Investigators say between May and June of 2011, the suspect contacted the decoy child numeral times over the internet and by cell phone. During these conversations, the suspected solicited the child to engage in sexual conduct with him. He encouraged and persuaded the minor to engage in a sexual performance online.
The internet and cell phone user was tracked to the suspect and his residence in southern Pettis County. In late July 2011, investigators searched his home and arrested Zimmerschied.
Officers seized two computers, two cell phones and thumb drives as evidence.
Zimmerschied was charged with the attempted enticement of a child and the attempted use of a child in a sexual performance.
After the defendant’s guilty plea on Monday he was sentenced to 4 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
