Workers at Memorial Pool in Jefferson City said it was their busiest day of the year so far.

But even being at the pool the heat can be dangerous when it is so hot.

Dehydration, heat stroke, and exhaustion are just a couple of things to watch out for.

We talked to Cole County EMS officials and they said just stay inside, "People have been doing pretty good taking breaks and drinking a lot of fluids, but the heat exhaustion is going to get you, when your outside working, you start feeling woozy. Take a break don't try to tough it out, because that will get you".

If you have to be outside they say to take small breaks, drink a lot of water, and avoid alcohol and caffeine.

Also, experts say to eat plenty of high water content foods like fruits and vegetables.
