A man crashed a car into a house on Tuesday afternoon.

An off-duty police officer saw Charles Buchanan and another person running from the home at 14 Third Avenue. The officer, who thought it was suspicious, followed them and contacted the
 Joint Communications & Information Center.

An officer found Buchanan at Town and Country Bowling Lanes. Buchanan admitted driving the car into the house, although he was not intoxicated and said he doesn't know what caused him to drive into the home.

No one was injured in the incident and the owner of the property estimates $35,000 in damages to the home.

Buchanan was arrested for felony leaving the scene of an accident and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended/revoked license.
