The Columbia Police Department responded to 2904 Range Line to assist the Columbia Fire Department at 3:00 a.m. on Monday. The resulting investigation revealed a mobile home at this location was intentionally set on fire.

It was determined Joseph G. Warren, 44, set fire to his neighbor’s trailer with a homemade incendiary device while there were people inside the residence. None of the residents were injured, and the fire was extinguished in less than 5 minutes.

The residents reported to 911 that they heard an "explosion." Fire and smoke were then seen in the area of the bathroom of the mobile home.

Warren was upset with his neighbor for contacting police earlier in the evening to complain about loud music coming from his residence resulting in Warren being issued a city summons for peace disturbance.

Warren was arrested for first degree arson, endangering the welfare of a child and armed criminal action.

The crime had the potential to injure or kill multiple occupants of the mobile home. Damage to the mobile home is estimated at $2,000.
