(AP) -- A special commission is accepting applications for appointment to the Missouri Supreme Court.

Judge William Ray Price Jr. announced earlier this week he's resigning from the seven-member court on Aug. 1 to return to private legal practice.

The Appellate Judicial Commission said Wednesday it will accept applications through July 13. Applicants must be at least 30 years old, U.S. citizens for at least 15 years and licensed to practice law in Missouri.

The commission will interview applicants in October, then choose three finalists from whom Gov. Jay Nixon will make the appointment
