After a fruitless investigation to identify two suspects of a residential burglary, the Phelps County Sheriff's Department posted screen shots from a surveillance video to its Facebook page.

A number of fresh leads were generated; however, one anonymous posting provided a specific name of one suspect. Following this lead, deputies identified both suspects and the vehicle seen in the video. This also resulted in the recovery of almost all the property and one arrest.

The burglary occurred on the afternoon of May 7 in the 21000 block of County Road 7670. During the burglary, the suspects took almost $30,000 in electronics and musical instruments. An area canvas of various businesses turned up the surveillance video that showed two white males in a red and black pickup truck in possession of some of the stolen property.

Kersey Kevin Wilder, 19 year old man who resides on Old Highway 66 in St. Robert, Mo., was arrested. Wilder is incarcerated in the Phelps County Jail having been charged with burglary and felony stealing, with a $50,000 bond.

The second suspect, whose name is being withheld because he is a juvenile, will be addressed by the Pulaski County Juvenile Officer.

Deputies are still in the process of recovering the remainder of the property and returning it to the owner.

"Our job is so much easier when good people step forward and help each other," said Sheriff Rick Lisenbe. "I am especially thankful for the citizen who provided this specific information. Without it, we may have never identified the perpetrators and the Victim would not have recovered their property."

Wilder's charges are merely accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
