Balloon Rosary at lift-off
Students from Saint Stanislaus Catholic school in Wardsville were at the State Capitol building today to pray the rosary, but in a rather unique way.
The 5
th
graders gathered on the front lawn, not bringing traditional rosaries, but instead, balloons.
Students said they were inspired to do a balloon rosary after they saw something similar on YouTube.
While there were some snags, students like Katie Lorang said their plan was not deflated in the end.
“
A lot of the balloons popped, so that wasn't that good, but we kind of repaired them and put a couple more balloons in so it would float better. But other than just the popping balloons, it was fun," said Lorang.
The rosary was soaring high in the Jefferson City skyline this afternoon. This was the first time anyone has done a balloon rosary at the State Capitol building.
