Columbia Fire Fighters were dispatched to 2701 East Nifong, the former Columbia Regency Mobile Home Park, at 6:00 PM on Sunday for a report of a mobile home fully involved in fire.

Fire fighters from Columbia Fire Station 8 were on the scene in 2 minutes and found an abandon mobile home fully involved in fire. Fire fighters were able to extinguish the fire in about 10 minutes.

The mobile home was abandon and no one was inside and no one was injured.

The utilities (electric and gas) were disconnected. Fire investigators are unable to determine and origin within the mobile home as damage was extensive.

The fire cause is undetermined as of this release.

The fire is suspicious in nature as the utilities were disconnected and no one was living in the mobile home.

Columbia Police are assisting the Fire Marshal's Office with the investigation.

Anyone who may have seen people(s) in or around the mobile home where the fire occurred are asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
