Lake-area leaders broke ground Thursday morning for the area's newest grocery store. The groundbreaking marked the construction start-up for the Dierbergs Lakeview Pointe Shopping Center.

The center, which will include other retailers, is located on Highway 54, across from the outlet mall.

The 77,000 square foot grocery store will be the company’s 25th store and the first outside the St. Louis metro-area.

The Dierbergs store is scheduled to open in the spring of 2013.
