Some neighborhoods around Jefferson City are a little cleaner today thanks to volunteers from Serve Jeff City helped pick up trash, and do some landscaping.

Serve Jeff City started this morning with a pancake breakfast, and from there, the volunteers hit the High Street strip, Dunklin street, West Edgewood, and Lincoln University.

This was the first time for Serve Jeff City, but organizers like Gus Wanger said it certainly won't be the last.

"This is something we're going to look at not just annually, but as needed. Maybe we'll be back in a month, maybe we'll be back in two months, but as projects come up in the community, and we can marshall up the volunteers, Serve Jeff City will be back," said Wagner.

Two special ceremonies around noon announced future service projects that are planned with serve Jefferson City.
