LOHMAN, MO -- Updated: Thursday, April 12 at 3:15 p.m.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed Jeremiah Kempker, 30, of Henley, was killed Thursday morning in a crash in Cole County.
It happened just after 8:05 on Branch Rd, just east of St. Michaels Rd., in Lohman.
The Highway Patrol said a semi was parked on the roadway and Kempker ran into the back of it.
Kempker was taken to Capital Region Medical Center which is where he was pronounced dead.
His passenger, Demyris Oliver,3, from Russellville, was taken by staff for life to University Hospital in Columbia.
University Hospital lists Oliver in critical condition.

Crash investigators with the Highway Patrol are on their way to a severe wreck near Lohman.
Troopers said the crash involved a semi and a passenger vehicle on Branch Road near St. Michaels. The semi stopped in the road and the car came over a hill and hit the semi. The car has significant damage.
Emergency crews took the male driver of the car to a hospital by ambulance, while a young boy in the car was life-flighted.
