Update: Friday, March 16th at 11:20 a.m.:
An early Friday morning fire damages a North Columbia home.
Around 5:45 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to 601 Rainforest Parkway for a report of a residential structure on fire.
A delivery driver called 9-1-1 when they saw fire on the outside of the residence near the garage area.
Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire. No one was home at the time.
Fire investigators determined the area of orign was on an exterior wall of the garage. The cause was likely an electrical issue in a junction box where the exterior garage light was attached.
Prelininary damage estimates to the residence and contents is set at $25,000.

Columbia Fire Department responded to a small fire at a residence on 601 Quick Sand Circle early Friday morning.
Fire officials said once they arrived on the scene they got the fire under control quickly.
Officials said that no one was home when the fire started.
As of right now the Columbia Fire Department is still investigating exactly what caused the fire.
