We've all seen signs for lost dogs, but have you ever seen a sign for a lost bird?
Two weekends ago a Holts Summit family's pet bird flew away.
Instead of posting signs, they turned to the power of social media.
KRCG's Daniel Winn has the story of Lennon's flight to freedom.
Imagine losing your pet bird!
Lennon is the Acree famliy's cockatiel, named after The Beatles' John Lennon.
"Very devastated, I never thought I would feel that way about a little bird”, Christine Acree told us.
Two Sundays ago Lennon flew the coup, and they thought he was gone forever!
It happened when nine year-old Reagan was going outside to feed her cats, she didn't realize Lennon was on her shoulder, and when she went outside, Lennon flew away.
"I think my 14 year old Holly put a picture up on Facebook, and I thought, well I'm going to get on there and do that too. Of course I'm friends with you guys at Channel 13, I think the question was on Sunday, 'what are you guys doing in Mid-Missouri today?' and I said I'm looking for my lost bird", Acree said.
Then, out of the blue, Lennon landed at a friends house about four miles away.
"Abby had been to our house one time maybe a year ago and she said 'Dad, that's Reagan's bird", Acree said.
"I came outside and there was a cockatiel sitting on our trampoline. As soon as I saw it, I knew somebody lost a pet", Matt Farris said.
So Farris, started exploring, and found the Acree's ad on Craigslist.
The next day, Lennon's “Magical Myster Tour” came to an end.
