Fulton Firefighters said a barbeque grill is to blame for Thursday’s early morning fire.

It happened just after 12:30 a.m. at a duplex in the 600 block of Westview in Fulton.

Fulton Fire Chief Dean Buffington said there were extensive flames when they got to the scene, but within 30 minutes the fire was under control.

The fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.

Buffington told KRCG that the fire started on the back deck of the residence.

He said residents used a barbeque grill earlier Wednesday night, and he believes leftover embers from that grill ignited the fire.

There were no injuries.
