Three people are in jail after a traffic stop turned up a portable meth lab bust.

Jefferson City Police K9 Unit stopped a car near the intersection of West Fillmore and Washington Streets shortly after 8:00 Tuesday night.

During the stop, the K9 Officer wanted to search the car, and the suspect allowed that.

Officers found the driver of the vehicle, a 45 year old male Jefferson City resident, with drug paraphernalia, a plastic bag containing methamphetamine and a quantity of unknown pills.

The passenger in the car, a 43 year old female Jefferson City resident, was found with needles and other paraphernalia commonly associated with the use of illegal narcotics.

A further search of the vehicle found a water bottle that was currently in use as an active methamphetamine cooking device.

Both suspects were arrested for manufacturing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, and a male suspect was also arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
