A jury found man guilty of murder Thursday.

Zach Peterson was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting death of James Porter.

It happened in January 2011 after a $20,000 drug deal went sour at the sunset mobile home park.

Peterson was convicted of murder. 

It took the jury less than three hours Thursday to reach a decision.

The trial started Tuesday for the man charged with a January 2011 murder in a Columbia mobile home park.

23-year-old Zachariah Joel Peterson is charged with second degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting death of James Porter.

Porter, 31, was found shot multiple times in the sunset hills trailer park in southeast Columbia.

Witnesses told police the two were going to do a drug deal when the shots broke out.

Jury selection happened Tuesday morning.

Opening arguments got underway this afternoon. The trial is expected to wrap up in a few days.
