Update: 2-5-2012, 12:10 p.m
KRCG has now confirmed through Lori Winslow her contract for the 2012-2013 school year has not been renewed. At approximately 2:25 Wednesday morning the school board voted to not rehire her. She stated they gave her no reason why.
Original Story:
More than 100 parents showed up at the Blair Oaks School Board Tuesday night.
They told KRCG they were there in support of elementary principal, Lorie Winslow.
Winslow says Blair Oaks superintendent, Dr. Jim Jones is asking the school board to terminate her after teacher evaluations from last year were not able to be produced when he asked for them in January.
She stated in an email that the evaluations were never returned to her from the district office.
Winslow said Jones even told the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education last June the evaluations were on file in the district.
At Tuesday's meeting, the board met in a closed session for most of the meeting.
Parent, Dawn Brooks said, "These allegations need to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, with hard evidence in front of me so I can make the judgment, right now everything is closed . My first day with the district my son was in first grade, he was obviously intimidated going to the first grade, she called me from her cell phone at 7:30 at night".
Brooks was one of dozens who came out to show support.
Rena Kuster told us, "I have a special needs child. He has aspergers syndrome. We came to this district three years ago from Catholic school in Jefferson City and it was immediate, my children noticed the love and contentment when we would walk in the building”.
As of Tuesday at our deadline, no decision had been made concerning Winslow.
