Update: 3:45 p.m. on Feb. 9:

Anthony Major, 43, of Jefferson City was charged on Thursday with 2nd degree domestic assault and misuse of 911.

Original Story:

A man authorities say called 911 claiming to be an undercover officer caused a lot of commotion in Jefferson City on Thursday.

Cole County Sheriff Greg White said 911 received a call from a man who said he was an undercover officer and had been beaten on Old Lohman Road. The man was not an undercover officer at all.

In fact, White said the man was part of a domestic disturbance and was eventually arrested on suspicion of filing a false report, impersonating a law enforcement officer and 2nd degree domestic violence.

Charges are expected to be formally filed in Cole County on Thursday.

The entire incident in the 5500 block of Old Lohman Road caused west-end Jefferson City residents and employees to be concerned. Several reported seeing as many as 14 law enforcement vehicles headed to the road near Westview Heights.
