A dock manufacturing plant in Camdenton has shut its doors.
Camdenton City Hall confirmed the news this afternoon that the ShoreMaster plant would be closing effective Monday morning.
A press-release from ShoreMaster, Inc. said it is moving the Camdenton production to its lower-cost plants in St. Augustine, Florida and its corporate headquarters in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. The statement went on to say that the closure of the plant is part of the company's "continuing long-term competitive unification strategy".
Around 65 Employees will be unemployed because of the closing. Select employees will be offered positions at other ShoreMaster sites. Those that aren't asked to relocate will be given severance benefits.
The Camdenton plant was once known as Galva Foam.
